About
Evan Stewart serves as the Master Trainer at KPro K9 and has been actively involved in dog training since 1997. His introduction to the field began as a volunteer at the Fort Pierce Humane Society in Fort Pierce, Florida, where he gained early insight into the challenges faced by shelter dogs. During this time, he observed that a lack of training and structured guidance is often a primary factor contributing to the number of dogs entering and remaining in shelters. This realization became a foundational influence on his career and long-term approach to training.
Evan is a decorated Marine Corps veteran, having served in Afghanistan at various times from 2001 to 2005. His military service instilled a strong sense of discipline, leadership, and commitment to service—qualities that continue to shape his professional philosophy. In addition to his military background, Evan holds an advanced degree in theology, which informs his perspective on responsibility, stewardship, and the ethical care of animals. He approaches dog training from a “ground-up” philosophy that emphasizes balance between biological needs and psychological understanding, encouraging handlers to develop awareness, consistency, and accountability in their relationships with their dogs.
Over the course of his career, Evan has earned accolades across a variety of American Kennel Club events and protection sport competitions, demonstrating both practical skill and depth of experience in advanced training environments. His work focuses on helping people and dogs live abundantly together through clear communication, structure, and mutual understanding. He is especially motivated by the moments where genuine breakthroughs occur—when dogs and handlers achieve alignment, trust is established, and meaningful progress is realized.
Evan is also deeply committed to community involvement and advocacy for dogs beyond his direct client work. He regularly facilitates educational events aimed at improving public understanding of responsible dog ownership and training. In addition, he provides pro bono services to assist in training shelter staff and dogs across the Southeastern United States and contributes ongoing support through donations to shelters facing resource challenges.
Through his leadership at KPro K9, Evan continues to influence both individuals and communities by promoting responsible ownership, advancing training standards, and strengthening the human-canine bond through education, service, and practical application.
